Summary We are looking for a Senior Data Bureau & Credit Risk Data Specialist to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of data used in credit risk decisioning, rules engines, and regulatory reporting within a highly regulated financial environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that data powering mission-critical credit decisions is accurate, governed, controlled, and compliant. You will oversee complex data integrations, transformations, and control frameworks, working closely with Risk, Technology, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to align data strategy with enterprise risk management objectives. This position is ideal for a senior data professional with strong experience in credit bureau data, financial services, regulatory reporting, and data governance, who can combine technical depth with stakeholder leadership and a continuous improvement mindset. Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field Master’s degree or certifications in Credit Risk, Financial Analysis, Data Governance, or Risk Technology are a plus Professional Experience 5–8+ years of experience in financial services, management consulting, or regulatory reporting roles Proven experience working with credit bureau data, credit risk decisioning platforms, and regulatory reporting Background in large-scale credit granting, financial services, retail banking, or consulting environments is highly valued Experience working with U.S. credit bureaus is required Key Responsibilities Data Governance & Control Framework Design, implement, and enforce data governance and control frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, security, completeness, and consistency across the full data lifecycle Establish proactive data control mechanisms to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks impacting credit risk models, decision engines, and bureau data integrations Partner with senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology, and Compliance to align governance practices with internal policies and external regulatory requirements Data Transformation & Summarization Oversee the transformation of complex bureau and internal datasets into trusted, actionable data supporting credit risk decisioning and regulatory reporting Lead data summarization initiatives to produce clear, reliable risk metrics, KPIs, and regulatory outputs Drive the adoption of advanced data techniques and emerging technologies (including AI/ML) to improve the scalability, speed, and accuracy of data pipelines Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a key connector between Risk, IT, Compliance, and Business teams to ensure data strategies support enterprise objectives Collaborate closely with engineering and platform teams to ensure seamless integration between data pipelines and credit risk systems Represent data governance and data control practices in discussions with regulators, auditors, and industry groups when required Innovation & Continuous Improvement Lead initiatives that increase automation, efficiency, and scalability of data integration and control processes Stay current on industry trends in data governance, credit bureau data management, risk technology, and regulatory data practices Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks across the data lifecycle and drive remediation initiatives that improve accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency Required Technical Skills Strong expertise in data governance, data controls, and bureau data management within credit risk environments Hands-on experience with SAS, SAS/STAT, and SQL (nice to have) Experience managing data used in credit decisioning systems, rules engines, and regulatory reporting platforms Familiarity with modern data integration tools, cloud-based platforms, and large-scale data ecosystems Experience with Big Data or advanced analytics platforms is a plus Exposure to Python and/or R is a plus Stakeholder & Leadership Skills Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data and risk concepts to senior leadership and non-technical audiences Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority Strong collaboration skills across Risk, Technology, Compliance, and Business stakeholders Financial & Business Acumen Solid understanding of credit risk, bureau data usage, and regulatory reporting requirements Experience supporting or managing large-scale data initiatives, including planning, prioritization, and cost awareness Ability to balance regulatory rigor with business agility What Success Looks Like Trusted, well-governed bureau and internal data supporting accurate credit risk decisions Reduced data risk through strong controls and proactive monitoring Scalable, automated data pipelines aligned with regulatory expectations Strong alignment between data governance strategy and enterprise risk objectives At Growth Acceleration Partners, we're an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
