Job Summary: The NDT Level III is responsible for ensuring that Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes and procedures comply with customer requirements while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role evaluates and interprets the quality of castings to ensure adherence to company and customer specifications and provides technical leadership and oversight to NDT personnel. Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain the NDT/X-Ray qualification program for Level I, II, and III personnel. Maintain qualification records, certifications, proficiency examinations, and oversight of required experience hours. Provide or direct training, examination, and certification of NDT personnel. Perform non-destructive inspections in accordance with NAS410, customer specifications, blueprints, and work procedures, including aerospace and final weld inspections. Conduct inspections including, but not limited to: o Visual Testing (VT) o Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) o Radiographic Testing (RT) – Film, Computed Radiography (CR), and Digital Detector Array (DDA) Attend production meetings to monitor job progress and collaborate with Quality and Production to resolve issues. Oversee NDT inspectors and ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety procedures. Partner with the QA Manager to appropriately schedule and assign NDT inspections. Record, organize, and evaluate test results; generate NDT and QA inspection reports. Maintain NDT equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met. Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff, including: o Selecting inspection methods and techniques o Preparing and verifying procedures and work instructions o Approving NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy Administer or perform eye examinations as required. Audit outside agencies to ensure compliance with written practices. Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures. Participate in special projects as assigned by management. Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed. Qualifications & Experience Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience as an NDT Level II; OR Minimum 2 years as an NDT Level II with a 2-year degree in Science or Engineering; OR Minimum 1 year as an NDT Level II with a 4-year degree in Science or Engineering Preferred: Previous NAS 410 Level III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) or Penetrant Testing (PT)
