Senior Software Architect

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Architect for active assignments where architectural ownership is required from day one. You will work close to both business and engineering, structuring complex system landscapes, defining architectural direction, and guiding teams through implementation and evolution. This is a hands-on architecture role, not a documentation-only position. What you’ll do In this role, you will: Design and evolve architectures for distributed, cloud-based systems Define target architectures, system boundaries, and integration patterns Make architectural decisions around scalability, availability, security, and cost Guide teams working with modern backend and platform stacks Support implementation to ensure architectural intent is realised in code and infrastructure Act as technical counterpart to product owners, platform teams, and stakeholders Technologies & tools you’ll work with You won’t work with everything, but you should be comfortable navigating environments involving several of the following: Cloud & Platform AWS and Azure Kubernetes, container platforms, Docker Serverless components (Lambda, Functions, managed services) Architecture & Integration REST & GraphQL APIs Event-driven architectures (Kafka, EventBridge, Service Bus) Microservices and modular monoliths API gateways, service meshes Backend & Data Java, .NET, Node.js, Python PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL databases Messaging and streaming platforms Security & Quality IAM, OAuth2/OIDC Security by design, zero trust principles Observability: logging, metrics, tracing (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana) What we’re looking for Proven experience as a Software Solution Architect engineer with architectural responsibility Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native design Experience making architectural trade-offs in real production environments Ability to communicate architecture clearly, both verbally and visually Comfortable working close to development teams and real codebases Nice to have Experience from regulated or security-sensitive environments Platform or internal developer platform (IDP) experience Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation) Experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices Why Yora Yora is a modern tech hub built on trust, collaboration, and freedom.
