Junior Test Automation Engineer

Job Description Our client is seeking a Junior Test Automation Engineer to support the execution of their automated quality assurance strategy across web applications and backend APIs. This role is suited to someone looking to grow their automation skills, write scalable test code, and contribute to a shift-left quality culture under the guidance of senior engineers. Location : Hybrid – Mosta Responsibilities: As a Junior Test Automation Engineer, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assist in implementing and maintaining automation frameworks for both API and web applications, with a focus on modularity and reusability Contribute to the design and estimation of new automated test cases in line with team quality standards Follow the established automation strategy to ensure balanced test coverage across the testing pyramid Develop and maintain automated functional and regression tests for web and API components Support integration of automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, monitor results, and report issues Participate in development lifecycle meetings to understand requirements and ensure testability is considered early Collaborate with senior automation engineers and actively seek mentorship on best practices, framework usage, and debugging Manage test data in line with established preparation, provisioning, and clean-up processes Learn and apply new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency Requirements: Experience with Postman (Collections, Environments, Newman) or similar tools; understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response structures Exposure to tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver Functional understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/DOM; experience using browser developer tools Proficiency or strong interest in TypeScript or JavaScript (Java or Python is a plus) Working knowledge of SQL for basic querying and data verification What’s in it for you?
