Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our client is dedicated to sustainability and is a leading provider in the recycling industry. Job Role & Key Responsibilities: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation, reliability, and efficiency of plant and machinery within a manufacturing environment. This is a multi-skilled role with a 60/40 electrical bias, focused on minimising downtime, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all plant and machinery Respond to and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns efficiently Electrical fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, and control panels Perform mechanical maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gearboxes Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery Accurately log all maintenance activity within the Asset Management system Ensure all work complies with HSE and GMP/GEP standards Identify and contribute to improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency Collaborate with production teams to minimise operational disruption The Ideal Candidate will have: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Strong electrical fault-finding capability Solid mechanical maintenance knowledge Experience working in a shift-based role A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail Desirable Skills: Experience within plastics or recycling environments Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment Confident communicator with strong teamwork skills Benefits Include: Competitive starting salary with overtime opportunities Structured 6-month salary review Annual performance-based salary review Shift-based role with on-call rotation Opportunity to play a key role in site reliability and improvement initiatives If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please get in touch with us or apply below.
