Senior DBA - Database Engineer | US company | 100% remote in Brazil

Our Proposal Currently, our client is hiring for one of their global enterprise SaaS accounts, a platform used by many Fortune 500 companies to manage financial, audit, risk, and compliance data. It’s heavy on automation, connected data, and business-critical transparency. We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to maintain and evolve a technically sophisticated platform built on microservices architecture with a graph database at its core. The product handles complex, interconnected compliance data. Your main responsibilities will be: Own the administration, reliability, and performance of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. Manage AWS RDS Aurora clusters, including patching, version upgrades, migrations, scaling, and decommissioning. Database performance tuning initiatives (query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis). Make informed architectural tradeoffs to reduce operational overhead and technical debt. Support disaster recovery planning, backup/restore strategies, and incident response. Must have 7+ years of experience in database administration Strong experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL administration in production environments Deep expertise with AWS RDS Aurora and lifecycle activities: patching, version upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning Strong knowledge of performance tuning (query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plans) Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for RDS/Aurora Advanced English level for daily communications. All meetings are in English. Nice to have: Experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning Strong understanding of database security (encryption at rest/in transit, IAM integration, access controls) Experience with high availability configurations, replication, and failover strategies Zero-downtime migration techniques (blue/green deployments, logical replication) Experience in regulated environments (SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR compliance) More information USD salary 100% remote for the US Long-term opportunity
