Lead Substation Engineer Contract Position | Juno Beach, FL | 9 Months Overview Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to join their team as a Lead. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of engineering experience and proven leadership capabilities to drive complex engineering initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead advanced engineering projects across multiple disciplines with increasing independence Perform engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to complex, multi-disciplinary projects Assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects while ensuring regulatory compliance Lead technical teams and engage in high-level decision-making and technical analysis Oversee utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations projects Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals Provide engineering oversight for electrical distribution systems, power systems, and computational analysis Manage civil infrastructure components including foundations, site grading, and drainage systems Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering 15+ years of progressive engineering experience Proven leadership experience in technical team environments Strong background in utility-scale solar and energy storage systems Experience with electrical distribution systems and power systems analysis Proficiency with computational tools (ETAP, EDISON preferred) Knowledge of ASME standards and regulatory compliance requirements Experience with project management and technical oversight Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Benefits Competitive hourly rate of up to $64/hour 9-month contract duration providing project stability Opportunity to work with industry-leading technology and systems Professional development in renewable energy sector Collaborative work environment with experienced engineering teams This position is located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and requires on-site presence.
