The Role The school is seeking a professional, organised, and highly reliable School Administrator to join its central administrative team. This is a vital role within the school, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly, communication processes remain efficient, and staff, students, and parents receive a consistently high standard of support. The successful candidate will become part of a cohesive team responsible for the administrative, clerical, and operational duties that keep the school functioning effectively. You will be based in the main school office, acting as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external partners. The position requires a confident communicator who is able to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy in all documentation, and work collaboratively with colleagues across teaching, safeguarding, finance, and pastoral teams. As the school continues to expand its digital infrastructure, confidence in working with data-management systems, online communication tools, and office software packages is essential. Key Responsibilities • Managing day-to-day office operations, ensuring smooth running of all administrative functions • Acting as the first point of contact for parents, staff, students, and visitors • Handling incoming enquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and efficiency • Supporting senior leaders with administrative tasks including correspondence, document preparation, and diary management • Maintaining and updating student records on the school’s Management Information System (MIS) • Producing letters, reports, newsletters, and internal communications to a high professional standard • Coordinating meeting logistics including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed for all visitors entering the building • Supporting attendance administration including daily registers, absence follow-ups, and reporting • Assisting with planning of key events such as Open Evenings, Parents’ Evenings, and school performances • Supporting exam administration as required, including documentation and communication • Providing general clerical support such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and resource preparation • Liaising with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies as needed • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times, particularly around sensitive information Person Specification • Previous experience in a school office or fast-paced administrative environment • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask under pressure • Excellent written and verbal communication • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Confident with IT systems including Microsoft Office and MIS platforms • Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders • Calm, professional manner and ability to work with discretion • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
