Senior System Configuration Engineer – Industrial Networks

Location: Ludvika, Sweden (100% on-site – no remote work allowed) Scope: Full Time (100%) Period: 2026-04-01 to 2026-09-30 (Extension possible) Language: English (fluent in speaking and writing – mandatory). Apply Before: 2026-03-05 Role Overview We are hiring a Senior System Configuration Engineer – Industrial Networks for one of our clients to design, configure, and troubleshoot network solutions for control and monitoring systems in critical infrastructure in Ludvika. In this hands-on role, you will work with Cisco and Fortinet equipment, implement secure industrial networks, support testing/verification/commissioning, and collaborate with automation, IT security, and systems engineers to ensure reliable communications in lab, workshop, and site environments. This position requires practical experience in network technology for industrial/OT environments and the ability to work structured in technical projects. This position includes occasional work-related travel within the EU/EEA region. What You’ll Do Configure and maintain network equipment (primarily Cisco and Fortinet) Design and implement network solutions for industrial/control systems Troubleshoot network issues in lab, workshop, and site environments Participate in testing, verification, and commissioning activities Document network designs and configurations Collaborate with automation, IT security, and systems engineering teams Support secure and reliable communications in critical infrastructure Who You Are Must-Have Requirements Minimum 6 years of work experience in the relevant field and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or related area (or equivalent), OR another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience in the relevant field. Practical experience with Cisco and/or Fortinet environments Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, and firewalls Ability to work in a structured way in technical/industrial environments Fluent in spoken and written English (mandatory) Valid SSG-Entré certificate Ability to work 100% on-site in Ludvika Nice to Have Fluency in Swedish is considered an advantage.
