Year 5 Teacher – Grays

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Grays, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to deliver engaging learning experiences for upper Key Stage 2 pupils and support their academic and personal growth. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the curriculum. You will create a stimulating learning environment, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development as they prepare for the transition to Year 6. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and school leadership Contribute to school events, trips, and enrichment activities Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, resources, and assessment strategies Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5 Be passionate, creative, and committed to high-quality teaching Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be able to differentiate learning for pupils of varying abilities Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Grays, with excellent transport links and a supportive, diverse community.
