History Teacher | Islington (Independent Secondary)

We are working with a leading independent school in Islington to appoint a scholarly History Teacher for a permanent, full-time role. This is a school where History is a highly popular subject, known for its rigorous approach to source analysis and historical debate. The Role The successful candidate will teach History across all key stages, engaging pupils with a broad and diverse curriculum. The department encourages pupils to think like historians, questioning narratives and developing their own analytical voices through high-level essay writing and discussion. The School Based in a historically significant part of Islington , the school combines tradition with a modern, forward-thinking outlook. Responsibilities Teaching History lessons that foster critical thinking and deep subject knowledge. Supporting pupils with university entrance, including Oxbridge and Russell Group applications. Leading or contributing to the school’s History and Politics societies. Participating in departmental planning to ensure a rich, evidence-based curriculum. Requirements QTS and an excellent degree in History. The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK. A valid enhanced DBS check. Salary M1 – UPS3 (£40,317 – £62,496) per annum.
