Year 6 Teacher – Oxford

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Oxford, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead learning for upper Key Stage 2 pupils and prepare them for a smooth transition to secondary school. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and a nurturing environment. Staff collaborate closely to deliver engaging lessons, with senior leadership providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the curriculum. You will create a stimulating classroom environment, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing targeted support Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Maintain a safe, organised, and engaging classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and leadership Contribute to school events, trips, and enrichment activities Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, resources, and assessment strategies Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6 Be passionate, creative, and committed to high-quality teaching Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be able to differentiate learning for pupils of varying abilities Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Oxford, with excellent transport links and a welcoming, diverse community.
