Development Engineer (Hardware) - Johannesburg R80, 000 to R85, 000 CTC The Dev Engineer with a focus on designing and industrialising electronic systems used in demanding, real-world applications. Key Responsibilities Design and develop analog & digital electronic circuits and embedded systems Build, test, and validate prototypes for performance and reliability Support product industrialisation, DFM/DFT, and production readiness Ensure EMC/EMI compliance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and production teams Provide technical support, documentation, and mentorship to junior engineers Key Requirements BEng / BSc Engineering (Electronics) or equivalent Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic product development Strong experience in embedded systems , C/C++ , and PCB design (Altium advantageous) Solid understanding of hardware/software integration Experience with microcontrollers, DSP, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet) Hands-on lab experience and exposure to EMC, testing, and certification processes Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills This role suits a proactive, detail-driven engineer who enjoys innovation, ownership, and working on high-reliability products.
