Senior Controls Engineer – Automation / PLC / HMI / SCADA Location: Albuquerque, NM | Full-Time | On-Site | Must be local or have ties to Albuquerque We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead and deliver industrial automation projects across a variety of industries. This role requires hands-on expertise with PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems , along with strong leadership skills to guide engineering teams, manage projects, and deliver innovative automation solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems for industrial processes. Develop control system architectures , electrical schematics, HMI/SCADA visualizations, and databases for historical data. Program PLCs using Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text; develop HMI/SCADA systems with VBA, .NET, SQL, Power BI, and Grafana. Implement and integrate industrial networks using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus . Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure project profitability for projects up to $1M . Interact directly with customers to identify requirements, specifications, and deliverables. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science required. 10+ years of progressive experience in Controls Engineering, delivering automation projects. Expertise with PLC platforms : Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon. Expertise with HMI/SCADA platforms : ICONICS Genesis64, Wonderware ArchestrA, GE CIMPLICITY, GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View. Experience with DCS platforms such as Emerson DeltaV preferred. Strong background in industrial automation, electrical schematics, power distribution , and field device troubleshooting. Experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Mining, Water/Wastewater . Must be local to Albuquerque or have strong ties to the area.
