Budget Technician

Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. VHIR is oriented towards finding solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social and economic development within its area of competence. VHIR is seeking a budget technician to join our organization as a key member of the Clinical Trials Budget Unit. The final candidates will support the area in performing, negotiation, follow-up of the budgets and proforma invoice management of the clinical trials activity developed at VHIR; thus, contributing to the success of VHIR’s clinical research strategy. Education and qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Economics and/or Business Administration and Management. Proven experience as an administrative / financial / personal assistant Analytical skills and attention to detail Fluent in Catalan and Spanish (level C), English (level B2). Desired: Knowledge of clinical trials is a plus Experience and knowledge: Required: At least 2+ years of experience in budgeting, invoicing, preferably in a clinical trials-based environment Solid financial analytical skills and attention to detail, with expertise in accounting Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a calm person and able to interact with a variety of stakeholders Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities Well-organized, proactive, results oriented professional with close attention to detail Team player with ability to interact with different units / departments of the Organization Ability to work as a team Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel Desired: Previous experience in the public sector and/or Research Institutes will be positively valued Proactivity and learning ability Business orientation and service vocation Main responsibilities and duties: Management and maintenance of the price catalogue Communication with research teams/promoters/suppliers Follow-up of activities to reconcile and prepare pro forma invoices and final invoicing Follow-up and resolution of incidents with external and internal clients Management of the internal tools of the process of budgeting, activity monitoring and billing for Clinical Trials Any other work-related task that contributes to the general functioning of the Commercial and Contracted Clinical Research Directorate Labour conditions: Full-time position: 37,5 h/week. Starting date: immediate Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.
