A developing Independent School in Brent is seeking an imaginative and skilled Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Textiles for a permanent, full-time role commencing in September. The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Textiles) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to explore their creativity through fabric and design. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology Teacher (Textiles) lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology, focusing on the textiles specialism. Develop students' practical skills in various textile techniques and their understanding of material properties. Assess and monitor student progress in textiles, providing constructive feedback as a Design & Technology Teacher (Textiles). Contribute to the evolution of the design and technology curriculum, specifically within textiles. Maintain a safe and well-equipped textiles workshop environment for student learning. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology, with a strong emphasis on Textiles. Demonstrated experience in teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with a focus on textiles. Strong practical abilities in a range of textile processes and a good understanding of design principles. Excellent communication and organisational skills essential for managing a practical subject. Ability to inspire students' creativity and technical proficiency within the field of textiles. A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive approach within the technology department.
