About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers, fostering a love for literature and the power of language within a diverse and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) in line with the National Curriculum. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition). Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading, identifying themes, character development, literary devices). Building Relationships: Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication. Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies). Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, intellectual curiosity, and a love for the English language. Assessment and Evaluation: Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments). Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills (written feedback, peer review, self-assessment). The Ideal Candidate: A qualified English teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their love of English . Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of literature and language in students of all abilities. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and supportive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
