About the role Zendr is seeking an experienced Head of Finance and Accounting who will play a key role during the scale-up period. As the one of the leaders of the finance team, you will be focused on building and growing the finance function, implementing best practice around reporting both internally and externally for investors. You will have strong control of the financial numbers, and required to partner closely with the CFO and other heads of departments to continue to drive Zendr’s ambitious growth plans. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Stewardship: Own all finance-related operations, core accounting, financial reporting, payroll and invoicing processes Lead and develop a team of currently two financial assistans who are owning customer and supplier invoicing Implement robust accounting policies, compliance processes, and internal controls, for example around accruals and cut-off dates Effectively manage the current outsourced book-keeping agency, while progressively internalizing critical accounting activities to build a disciplined in-house finance function Drive automation of the finance function and use software to boost efficiency, speed, accuracy, and quality of insights wherever possible Lead the consolidation of accounts from different group entities as the company expands Financial Strategy & Infrastructure: Support the CFO in building financial insights and KPIs by ensuring accurate, timely, and well structured underlying financial data. Develop capital-efficient financing and funding strategies, including alternative sources such as debt financing, grants, and tax credits Support accounting related M&A activities, including financial due diligence and financial PMI Design and implement a scalable finance infrastructure, including systems, processes, data models as well as the use of AI that support Zendr’s continued growth Board & Shareholder Communications: Produce robust and timely monthly management accounts and KPIs for reporting to the management team and the board About you The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-oriented financial operator with a proven track record in high-growth operationally-intensive companies, who has been responsible for financial processes and outputs and delivered tangible improvements to financial processes. Key attributes of the successful candidate include: Ownership & Mindset: Comfortable being personally accountable for financial accuracy and engaging directly with key stakeholders. Brings a hands-on, can-do attitude and pragmatic problem-solving mindset, valuing ownership, curiosity, and execution as highly as prior experience. Professional Training: Formal training in accounting (audit firm or equivalent), preferably with Big 4 or leading accounting firm background combined with hands-on in-house experience, ideally from a transaction-heavy or platform-based business Prior Experience: At least five years of experience in accounting, financial control, managing day-to-day accounting, finance and cash management Demonstrated ownership and leadership: Clear examples of leading key financial processes hands-on and delivering robust financial outputs for management review Financial Expertise: Thorough understanding of metrics and financial ops, with the ability to lead all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. Financial Control Excellence: Ability to execute fast and accurate month ends, high quality reporting, including complex accruals and can deal with complexities of cross-border entities (e.g legal set up, payroll, tax structuring) Operational Efficiency: Experience automating finance functions for increased efficiency, speed, and accuracy, as well as managing vendor relationships to optimise terms, service levels and expenditure. Communication Skills: Proven ability to foster relationships across the organization, strong communication and presentation skills. Following years of rapid, profitable growth, Zendr is entering its next phase of expansion through a new strategic partnership with a European Private Equity investor, providing significant capital and expertise to accelerate Zendr’s clear technology advantage and execute their next phase of growth. The new Head of Finance and Accounting will be a key member of the finance leadership team reporting to the CFO with end-to-end responsibility for accounting and financial operations such as day-to-day control, monthly closings, management reporting.The role will also play a central part in building a scalable finance infrastructure - spanning systems, processes and controls - to support Zendr’s expansion into a European champion.
