Accountant

Job Summary: The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with tax and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Handle accounts payable and receivable. Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and reports. Manage payroll and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.). File tax returns and ensure full compliance with local laws. Assist in budget preparation and forecasting. Coordinate with external auditors during audits. Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded properly. Monitor cash flow and manage bank transactions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/ACCA qualification (or in progress) is an added advantage. 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage). Solid understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and compliance. High attention to detail and integrity.
