Environmental Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Environmental Engineer to oversee and manage environmental aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental regulations, impact assessments, and sustainable construction practices, with a proven track record of integrating these into large-scale infrastructure or building projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead environmental planning, assessment, and compliance for ongoing and upcoming construction projects. Conduct and review Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). Ensure compliance with national environmental regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements. Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and stakeholders regarding environmental issues. Monitor on-site environmental performance, including waste management, air and water quality, erosion control, and biodiversity protection. Provide technical advice to project managers and site teams on environmental risks and mitigation strategies. Lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations related to environmental performance. Train and mentor junior staff and contractors on environmental best practices and procedures. Support sustainability initiatives and contribute to achieving environmental certification (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering within construction or infrastructure projects. Proven ability to manage complex environmental aspects of multi-disciplinary projects. Experience with EIA/EMP preparation and implementation. Excellent communication, project management, and report-writing skills. Certification in environmental systems or safety (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) is an added advantage.
