Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant Role Overview Responsible for accurate product costing, variance analysis, and financial insights within a manufacturing environment. This role partners with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance to strengthen cost control, improve margins, and support strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable insights Perform cost roll-ups, margin analysis, and product cost evaluations Reconcile WIP, inventory, and cost of goods sold Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling Lead inventory counts and resolve production or material discrepancies Improve costing processes, reporting, and ERP workflows Prepare cost reports, dashboards, and management summaries Ensure compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements Assist with the month-end and year-end inventory and cost close Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Manufacturing cost accounting experience Strong knowledge of standard costing, BOMs, and inventory accounting Advanced Excel and ERP system experience Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Core Competencies Cost analysis Process improvement Cross-functional collaboration Financial accuracy Accountability
