Manufacturing Engineer (Professional / Lead) Role Overview The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new or improved production processes to enable efficient, safe, and cost-effective mass production of products. The role ensures optimal equipment utilization, robust production flows, and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The engineer works closely with product development, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to secure manufacturability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the manufacturing lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Process & Production Development Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, production flows, and equipment layouts to ensure efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness Define sequence of operations, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for production Adapt and improve machinery, automation, and manufacturing methods based on factory conditions Support industrialization of new products and changes to existing products Testing & Problem Solving Conduct testing and validation throughout all production stages to ensure process control and stability Analyze production data, identify root causes, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve quality, yield, and performance Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide manufacturing input to product design engineering to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM/DFMA) Collaborate with quality, maintenance, supply chain, and production teams to meet operational targets Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, standardization) Compliance & Standards Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Maintain documentation, procedures, and process standards Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and operational governance Qualifications & Skills Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or equivalent Knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrialization, and production optimization Experience working with cross-functional teams in an industrial or production environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, required for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, operators, and external partners Professional Level Profile Applies practical manufacturing knowledge typically obtained through education and 2–5 years of relevant work experience . Expectations Works independently with general supervision Handles moderately complex production or process challenges Supports projects and improvements within assigned scope Influences others through technical expertise and best practices Lead Level Profile Senior specialist in Manufacturing Engineering with deep technical expertise and typically 8+ years of relevant experience . Additional Responsibilities Lead large or end-to-end manufacturing projects and industrialization initiatives Own process strategy, technical decisions, and implementation roadmaps Coach, review, and delegate work to junior engineers Drive complex problem-solving and cross-functional alignment Act as subject matter expert and escalation point for manufacturing topics Contribute to long-term manufacturing strategy and technology development Expectations Works with limited oversight Solves complex technical and operational problems Provides technical leadership and mentoring
