Ealing, West London Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant Location: Ealing, West London Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: £18,500–£21,500 per annum Start Date: Immediate About the School This vibrant primary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive early years team. The Role As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will: Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of children aged 3–5 Assist in delivering structured and play-based learning activities Support children with additional needs, including SEN and EAL, to ensure inclusive learning opportunities Observe and record children’s progress, providing feedback to teachers Encourage children’s independence, curiosity, and confidence in the classroom Help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment You will also help with the preparation of resources, assist in daily routines, and contribute to school trips and extracurricular activities. Key Responsibilities Supporting children in whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one activities Delivering play-based learning experiences under the guidance of the class teacher Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development Helping manage classroom routines and transitions Preparing resources and learning materials Monitoring and documenting children’s development and progress Supporting children with SEN, EAL, or other additional needs Assisting with outdoor learning, creative activities, and physical play Participating in team meetings, training, and school events Supporting extracurricular activities and school outings The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who: Has experience working with children aged 3–5 Understands early years pedagogy and child development principles Is patient, nurturing, and approachable Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills Can support children with SEN or EAL effectively Demonstrates creativity in play-based learning Maintains flexibility and adaptability in a busy classroom Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Is passionate about making a difference in early years education Professional Development The school provides: Mentoring and guidance from experienced EYFS teachers CPD in early years curriculum, SEN support, and behaviour management Training in observation, assessment, and intervention strategies Opportunities to take responsibility for specific learning areas or projects Collaborative teaching and learning opportunities with an experienced team What the School Offers Inclusive and supportive school culture Focus on staff wellbeing and development Well-resourced classrooms and outdoor learning areas Opportunities for career progression The chance to make a lasting impact on young children’s development Safeguarding Statement The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
