Year 4 Teacher – Southwark

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and reflective Year 4 Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Southwark, starting as soon as possible. The Role As the Year 4 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, well-structured lessons across the national curriculum. You will support pupils as they develop independence, critical thinking skills, and a love of learning. The school places strong emphasis on inclusive practice, ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional needs, are supported effectively. You will work closely with teaching assistants and phase colleagues to ensure consistency across Lower Key Stage 2. Clear communication with parents and carers will be an important part of the role, helping to build strong partnerships that support pupils’ learning and development. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum Track pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Key Stage 2 Be confident delivering the national curriculum Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding Work effectively as part of a collaborative team Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will be well supported.
