Contract Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Role: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) Type: Contract Shifts: 4 on 4 off Days (1x position) 4 on 4 off Nights (1x position) monday - Friday Days (1x position) Location: Rainham, Essex Requirement: Urgent Supporting Busy Production Periods Overview We are seeking an Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide engineering support across a fast-paced Food/FMCG manufacturing site during peak operational demand. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery Electrical fault finding on motors, sensors, control panels and automation equipment Support mechanical maintenance tasks as required Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime Complete maintenance records, inspections and engineering documentation Work to site H&S standards, safe isolation procedures, and engineering compliance Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of machinery where needed Required Experience & Skills Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within Food, Beverage, or FMCG manufacturing Strong electrical bias with mechanical competency Confident fault finding on industrial equipment and control systems Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds / HNC/HND in Engineering (or equivalent) Strong understanding of safe working practices and permit-to-work systems Immediate availability preferred due to urgent workload requirements
