Year 2 Teacher - Slough

A popular primary school in Slough is seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their KS1 phase from January 2026. This Year 2 Teacher role in Slough will include a comprehensive induction and handover prior to January 2026, with the successful Year 2 Teacher in post from January 2026 ready for the spring term. The appointed Year 2 Teacher will deliver daily phonics, guided reading and structured writing units, ensuring pupils make rapid and sustained progress across Slough. • Year 2 Teacher required for a full-time KS1 position • Year 2 Teacher required to work within a supportive primary school in Slough • Year 2 Teacher to join a well-resourced KS1 team delivering strong phonics and early literacy The Year 2 Teacher will plan sequenced lessons that build fluency in reading and number, run targeted small-group interventions and use assessment to set precise next steps. The Year 2 Teacher will liaise closely with teaching assistants, phase leads and families across Slough to secure consistent outcomes. We welcome Year 2 Teacher applicants who are organised, reflective and passionate about early primary practice. Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons that develop phonics, reading, writing and number fluency. Lead guided-reading and daily phonics sessions and run focused small-group tuition. Use assessment to identify gaps, adapt planning and evaluate the impact of Year 2 interventions. Work with TAs to scaffold learning and prepare accessible resources for Year 2 pupils. Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate next steps to parents across Slough. Person specification Qualified Teacher Status with proven KS1 experience, ideally as a Year 2 Teacher. Strong phonics knowledge, assessment literacy and effective classroom routines. Calm, organised and able to build positive relationships with children and families in Slough. Committed to CPD and available to begin January 2026 with attendance at induction before January 2026.
