Year 6 Teacher – Lambeth

We are seeking a motivated, confident, and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Lambeth , starting as soon as possible . This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working in Upper Key Stage 2 and is passionate about supporting pupils through a crucial stage of their primary education. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils are challenged, supported, and prepared both academically and emotionally for the transition to secondary school. Senior leadership is approachable and provides consistent support, mentoring, and high-quality professional development. As the Year 6 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad, engaging, and balanced curriculum. You will foster independence, resilience, and confidence, ensuring pupils feel supported and motivated throughout the year. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Prepare pupils effectively for SATs while promoting a positive attitude to learning Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons Use assessment data to track progress and plan targeted interventions Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Support transition arrangements to secondary school Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks Be confident using data to support pupil progress and attainment Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Lambeth , with excellent transport links and a diverse, supportive local community.
