Freight Group Manager

Cakum Global is recruiting a Freight Group Manager to join our clients senior leadership team in Lae, Papua New Guinea . Role Overview: This is a senior management role within a leading international freight business. Reporting to the General Manager, the Freight Group Manager will lead freight forwarding and project operations, oversee large teams, and drive operational efficiency, compliance, and financial performance in a challenging operating environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage Freight Group Managers, working closely with Operations, Logistics, and HR Maintain senior relationships with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, and key partners Ensure full compliance with PNG Customs Trusted Trader, NAQIA, and regulatory requirements Own the operations P&L and prepare annual budgets and financial reports Act as a senior contact for key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders Develop procedures, training programs, and enforce safety management systems Compile weekly, monthly, and annual management and performance reports Enforce company policies and operational standards at all times Ideal Candidate Profile: 10+ years experience in the freight forwarding industry At least 5 years in a senior freight forwarding management role Strong knowledge of freight documentation, customs procedures, and global routing Proven leadership capability managing large teams in demanding environments Strong commercial acumen with budget, P&L, and KPI reporting experience Tertiary qualifications in business, logistics, or a related field preferred High commitment to health, safety, and leadership standards Whats on Offer: Senior leadership role within a respected international freight organization Competitive remuneration package Company-provided accommodation and fully maintained vehicle Expatriate package negotiated in line with experience Based in Lae with some travel within Papua New Guinea Apply here: https://www.careers-page.com/cakum-global/job/4RR33VWV Referrals and confidential enquiries are welcome and can be made via Cakum Global .
