Are you an enthusiastic and motivated History ECT looking to begin your teaching career in an inspiring and supportive environment? An Outstanding Ofsted-rated boys’ secondary school in Merton (ages 11–18) is seeking a dedicated and creative History Teacher (ECT) to join their successful History Department from January 2026. The Role As a History ECT, you will: Teach engaging and well-planned lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. Contribute to the ongoing success of a collaborative and high-achieving History Department. Participate fully in school life, including enrichment activities and extra-curricular clubs. Receive tailored guidance, training, and mentoring from experienced colleagues. Requirements Is completing their PGCE or equivalent qualification and will hold QTS by January 2026. Has a genuine passion for History and for helping young people reach their potential. Demonstrates creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Is a strong communicator with excellent classroom management skills. Values teamwork and is eager to contribute to a supportive learning community.
