Job Title: Senior Architect
Location: Marion, IN (Mandatory Onsite Presence – Prefer Local Applicants, Commutable Distance Acceptable)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Team Structure: Groups of 3-4 Professionals

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or Structural Engineering with design proficiency)

  • Over a decade of experience (license preferred) OR at least fifteen years without licensure

  • Extensive background in construction and document preparation

  • Practical field experience – comprehensive understanding beyond just design schematics

  • Leadership and mentorship skills – guide junior architects who lack practical field insights

  • Recent proficiency in Revit software

  • Capability to be present on site daily in Marion, IN

Desirable Attributes:

  • Licensed Architect or Structural Engineer (License not mandatory if experience is robust)

  • Potential for future partnership – candidate could advance to Limited Partner status

  • Experience working on nonprofit projects such as churches, libraries, community centers, healthcare facilities, schools or housing developments

  • Willingness to commute if residing outside Marion but available M-F onsite

  • Knowledgeable about bidding and procurement processes for nonprofit clients

Compensation & Benefits: Salary Range: $100K - $130K based on experience level Bonuses Offered Annually including profit distribution Retirement Plan includes Simple IRA with employer contributions Healthcare Coverage not provided

Career Advancement Prospects include the possibility of becoming a Limited Partner and assuming leadership after Mike's retirement in two years.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Technical Guidance:

  • Supervise the accuracy of construction documents and bid preparations.

  • Assist nonprofit clients throughout design development through permitting to the final build.

  • Collaborate within sectors such as churches, educational institutions, healthcare services and affordable housing.

  • Balance high standards of design while ensuring economic feasibility.

Mentorship & Team Building:

  • Lead and support young architects skilled at software but needing construction expertise.

  • Share practical knowledge regarding materials used in real-world scenarios.

  • Foster an open-studio atmosphere conducive for collaboration across both office locations.

Hands-On Construction Expertise & Implementation:

  • Guarantee that designs translate into feasible constructions that are economical.

  • Engage actively during site inspections; coordinate contractor discussions; resolve any issues occurring during execution phase.

    • Act as technical advisor guiding team members through compliant project delivery strategies

Client Engagement & Organizational Leadership :

  • Work closely alongside Jeff Schrader before his November retirement; partner with Michelle Doyle who is a Limited Partner based out from our Marion Office.

  • Opportunity exists post Jeff’s departure where one can assume key leadership roles even potentially establishing long-term partnerships . Collaborate effectively alongside Jennifer Loften slated soon become majority shareholder by next two-year span .
