Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for daily maintenance and non-routine maintenance of equipment and facility. The position will be required to perform any and all maintenance activities for all mechanical systems and support electrical maintenance. Assists equipment Operators and Mechanics in the operation and troubleshooting of plant equipment and systems. The position will also be required to perform and support any and all project installation and start-up throughout the plant on an as needed basis.

1. Embrace safety and obey al policies. Perform PMs on al mechanical equipment in the        plant.

2. Support other Maintenance Team members.

3. Troubleshoot and resolve problems on:

     a. Mechanical Equipment such as pumps, tanks, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes etc.

     b. Plant Processes such as Soap System, bin storage, boilers, air compressors, etc.

     c. Operating equipment and control systems and devices.

     d. General plant electric systems such as intercom, lighting, grounding systems,                      alarms.

4. Project support for mechanical systems for projects or upgrades:

     a. Installation of mechanical equipment such as new packing lines, pumps, tanks,                   conveyors, dryers, and ancillary equipment

Knowledge: 

1) Mechanical:

     a) Be able to do Welding, operate TIG/MIG/Plasma cutters, Grinders, Drills, and basic              machining

     b) Be able to operate Band saws, drill press, sheet metal brakes, able to broach a                    keyway, able to run shop equipment as needed, etc.

     c) Carry out Pipe Fabrication and layout as per drawings

     d) Understand and repair mechanical equipment such as (but not limited to):

          i) Pumps, seals (including mechanical seals)

         ii) Hydraulic operated machines

        jii) Gearboxes

     e) Should have fundamental knowledge of lubricating oils and greases.

2) Electrical:

     a) Fundamental knowledge of Electrical power - voltages, amps etc.

3) Operate Forklifts and other similar equipment

4) Additional training on and off site as needed.
