Job Title: ROC Engineer / Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Network Monitoring & Operations: Monitor and manage network performance to ensure optimal service delivery across Telkom's infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network failures, outages, or disruptions. Perform proactive checks to detect potential issues before they affect services. Ensure network stability and reliability by handling alerts, incidents, and problems efficiently. 2. Incident Management: Identify, categorize, and escalate incidents according to priority. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, or third parties to resolve incidents swiftly. Maintain a detailed log of incidents and resolutions for reporting and analysis. Ensure compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLA (Operational Level Agreements). 3. Reporting & Documentation: Create and maintain documentation on network configuration, incidents, and resolutions. Provide periodic status reports on network health, incidents, and performance metrics. Ensure that root-cause analysis reports are delivered after significant incidents. 4. Customer Support: Provide support for customer issues related to network connectivity, performance, or services. Work closely with the customer support teams to resolve network-related complaints. Communicate effectively with customers regarding service issues or planned maintenance activities. 5. Collaboration with Other Teams: Collaborate with other internal departments, such as technical teams, field engineers, and management, to ensure smooth operations. Participate in project teams to assist with network upgrades or new service implementations. Support the development and implementation of network management procedures. 6. Network Optimization: Analyze network traffic patterns and recommend improvements to enhance performance. Assist in capacity planning and ensure network scalability. Implement network optimization techniques to improve service quality. 7. Maintenance & Upgrades: Coordinate and support scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades and expansions. Required Skills & Qualifications: 1) Min. Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. 2) Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., HP OpenView, SolarWinds, Nagios). 3) Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, including IP-based networks, MPLS, VPNs, etc. 4) Good knowledge of telecom protocols (e.g., BSS/OSS, SNMP, TCP/IP). 5) Familiarity with networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and network performance monitoring. 6) Problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. 7) Strong communication and teamwork abilities. 8) Ability to work in shifts (24/7 support) as required. 9) Desired Skills: Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus. Familiarity with Telkom's products, services, and network infrastructure is a plus.
