Seeking passionate Dance Instructors for our established Dance School on the Mid-Peninsula. Our Dance Academy is Caltrain accessible and located just off Hwys 101/ 280 / 92. We value technique-based instruction and a collaborative teaching environment.

Dance styles at our school include ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and an award-winning curriculum for young dancers ages 3-5. All Dance Teachers receive complete training in dance pedagogy, access to award-winning curriculum, and classroom leadership skills, resulting in teachers who lead students and parents with joy and expertise, using a variety of resources and techniques. We hire dance teachers from the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, Daly City, San Bruno, Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Union City, Millbrae, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara regions.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Teach small, boutique-sized dance classes 2-3 days per week to students of all ages and ability levels, all styles of dance.

• Implement quality curriculum standards and student practice incentives, provide students with Myriad's musical education resources, preparing students for performance events throughout the year.

• Work diligently to maintain the high standard of excellence among Myriad's students

• Discover your joy in inspiring and motivating dancers of all ages, all levels.

Positions open M-F from 3-8pm and weekend hours. This is an onsite teaching position at our San Mateo location. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Dance, or concurrent enrollment in a dance degree (Performance or Education).  Preference is given to those who've earned a Masters’ degree. 

• Applicants can demonstrate a high level of proficiency of dance ability.

• Applicants must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area with appropriate means of transportation, with a high regard for punctuality.

• Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. with supporting documentation. We are not able to accommodate candidates who require visa sponsorship.

• Applicants can demonstrate English language proficiency. 

• Teachers with at least two years of teaching experience with children are preferred.

Benefits / Support / Base Salary:

• Base Salary / Competitive Hourly Rate: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour, depending on role.

• Year-Round employment, including summer teaching hours, promoting work-life balance and flexible scheduling.

• Pay for 52 weeks per year with 9 weeks of vacation.

• Teachers' pay is unaffected by no-show students, and schedules are consistent and can be relied upon year-round.

• Competitive compensation based on level of education, teaching experience, work performance, ability to collaborate with others, and professional development initiatives. 

• 5-10% pay increase upon contract renewal for continuing teachers

• New teachers receive 6 month student retention / high job performance bonus, and additional compensation is given to teachers who excel and assume four or more teaching days and/or teach weekends.
