Traveling Equipment Operator (Cable Plow Crew)

Responsibilities

As a TravelingHeavy Equipment Operator on a Cable Plow Crew, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.  

In addition, you will: 

• Operate heavy equipment, with a primary focus on excavators, to trench, backfill, and support cable plow operations for underground utility construction

• Assist in operating other construction equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, cable plows, skid steers, hydraulic reel trailers, and related machinery as needed

• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field 

• Safely dig around existing utilities by reading and interpreting utility locates, above-ground utility markers, and construction drawings

• Work closely with the foreman and crew to plan daily tasks, maintain productivity, and ensure adherence to project specifications

• Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards and actively promote a safe worksite

• Assist crew members with ground work, hand digging, and other tasks when equipment operation is not required

Qualifications

• You have experience operating heavy equipment on a construction site 

Travel Details

• Lodging paid and additional daily per diem.
• Schedule is full time with opportunity for overtime.
• Crews may be traveling throughout WA, MT, OR, ID, AZ, CO, and NV.
• Crews may be traveling up to 5 weeks on with 1 week off.

MOS Codes 12N, 12V, 21E, and 21J relate well to this position. 

Compensation of $32-$34 per hour, depending on the experience.
