This is an entry‑level position designed for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in Business Development, proposal management, or the communications construction industry.
As an RFP Desk Proposal Writer, you will develop new skills, collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting Business Development efforts, and play a key role in improving the quality, consistency, and competitiveness of our proposal documents. This role provides hands‑on experience, training, and mentorship to support your professional growth.
This position supports MasTec Communications Group’s Business Development efforts through the timely and accurate submission of RFPs (Requests for Proposal), RFIs (Requests for Information), and bids. Responsibilities include coordinating proposal activities, tracking and updating opportunities, ensuring compliance with submission requirements, and meeting all deadlines
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage multiple shared RFP Desk email inboxes to ensure all bid notifications, customer requests, and time‑sensitive communications are received, reviewed, recorded, and distributed appropriately
- Assist with collecting RFx materials from customer vendor portals and bid aggregators
- Be responsible for the on‑time submission of RFx and bid packages assigned by your manager, including:
- Logging new RFx and bids into Salesforce
- Confirming NDAs and confidentiality requirements are in place
- Distributing RFx and bid details to internal stakeholders
- Scheduling kickoff meetings and preparatory reviews as needed
- Gathering required proposal content from stakeholders and AI content libraries
- Drafting proposal documents using approved templates and standard formats
- Coordinating with pricing teams to ensure rate cards and pricing sheets are completed
- Assisting with the submission of final proposals through portals or email
- Tracking post‑submission status to ensure wins and losses are recorded
- Routing contracts and post‑award documentation to Legal as required
- This role may also include:
- Customer and vendor portal registrations
Development of PowerPoint presentations in support of proposals and business development activities
Required Skills andQualifications
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, deadline‑driven environment
- Basic organizational or project coordination experience preferred but not required
- Experience supporting Sales or Business Development teams is a plus
- Exposure to RFP documents or legal/contract language is a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online portals is preferred
- Broadband, or Wireless construction knowledge a plus but not required. On the job skills and technical training will be provided to help make you successful.
Qualifications

- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong aptitude to work cross-functionally (Operations, Sales, AP, Safety, Marketing, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing requests
- Strong technical writing skills are a plus
- Ability to see a project/task through to completion
- Superb follow-up skills
- Familiarity with CRMs and data management
- Be able to work independently
- Previous experience with Salesforce is a plus
- Experience automating mailboxes is a plus
- Proficiency in Outlook and related Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)

Compensation Range $50k-$60k Annually. Depending on experience
