Electrical Technician

Competence

Be orderly, organized, results-oriented, quickly responsive, and able to coordinate work. Must handle advanced technology tools (spreadsheets, worksheets, etc.). Be competent, based on appropriate education, training, or experience in overall performance.

  • Travel Approximately 10-25% annually (National and International)
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • Physical demands are representative of those an employee will encounter while performing the functions in a typical office and manufacturing environment.

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

  • Certificate of qualification as an electrician or a diploma or equivalent for post-secondary technician
  • Five years of experience with electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Prior experience in building panels and wiring automation systems
  • Electronics, automated machine building, and robotics experience preferred

Functions & Scope

  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring as necessary.
  • Use the electrical design package and any customer specifications to plan and coordinate the building process of the automated equipment. Ensure that IPTE standards are met throughout the build phase.
  • Check the dates and budgeted hours in the project schedules and work within those constraints.
  • Prepare build progress reports and report any problems to the production manager.
  • Perform panel, cell, and system wiring, including conduit and wireway installation, according to the electrical design package applicable to NEC and NFPA regulations and customer specifications.
  • Test, troubleshoot and verify the electrical system to ensure that the automation equipment or system is functioning according to the design.
  • Provide support during de-bug/integration and acceptance as needed or requested.
  • Work with the project managers and supervisors, customers, designers, technicians, and programmers to solve problems to provide the customer with a complete and functional system.
  • Follow all procedures and work instructions as defined in the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

This position is based in Alpharetta, GA, USA, with travel throughout the North American region as required.
