Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of 5 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.

 

Reporting to the Clinical Program Manager, the Activities Assistant (Recreation Technician)plans and implements structured activities for the RTC. This position will perform a variety of programming, technical, and clerical functions related to recreation. The Recreation Technicianassists in providing recreation programs and services, including coordinating, implementing, and scheduling programs for various age groups and interests. This position monitors the day to day operations of programs, ensuring that rooms, facilities, equipment, and records of such are appropriately maintained and that supplies are available. Other job duties include working with clients, staff and volunteers, and performing clerical duties such documentation, filing, and inventory.

 

Pay Range: $19 - $20.90 / hr

Full Time Schedule Options! *Must have ability to work weekends (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience in recreational activities
  • Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting with children/adolescents required

OTHER:

  • Must be available to attend 2 weeks of required orientation training (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm) plus additional 2-3 weeks on the job training
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (oreligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
