Salary:$60,000 up to $63,000 annually depending on related experience

Schedule: Hours worked will be based on the 10-month school calendar

Devereux/TCV Community Services Day Academy Approved Private School is Hiring for a Certified Special Education Teacher for its STAIRS (Autistic Support) Classroom!!!

The STAIRS classroom at the Day Academy serves students (age 12-18) with autism and high support needs who are receiving treatment in TCV’s STAIRS Program, a specialized residential treatment program for children and adolescents with autism/IDD with severe challenging behaviors on the Devereux TCV campus in Homestead. As a Special Education Teacher for the STAIRS classroom, you will work with other dedicated professionals from the Day Academy and STAIRS residential program who share your passion for helping children and adolescents with ASD/IDD learn and succeed.

Position Overview:

Devereux/TCV Community Services in Homestead, PA provides programs and services for children with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and mental health needs. The Special Education Teacher in the STAIRS program will collaborate closely with the students’ multi-disciplinary educational and treatment teams to address the specific needs of each student, and will provide additional services such as testing, assessment, IEP updates, and other duties as directed by the School Principal.

*Prospective employee hired for this position will receive a $3,000 sign on bonus. The employee will receive the first half of the bonus ($1,500) after the successful completion of 90 calendar days of employment, the second half of the bonus will be awarded after the successful completion of 10 months of employment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in education required.
• Active Special Education Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Teacher Certification required.
• Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support strategies.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with autism and high support needs
• Special Education Teacher experience required.
