Devereux Connecticut is proud to offer residential, day and transitional programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our services are designed in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and emphasize person‑centered planning, stability and community integration.  Our goal is to help individuals develop the skills and confidence they need to lead fulfilling and socially-connected lives within their communities.

 

We are seeking an experienced and compassionateResidence Manager to lead and oversee our Adult Community Living Arrangement. This is a  DDS‑licensed home in the community that provides long‑term support for adults, age 18 and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These homes are designed to meet each individual’s unique needs, while ensuring consistent assistance and supervision. 

 

Professional staff provide 24/7 support, helping adults build skills related to personal care, meal preparation, household responsibilities, healthcare coordination, money management and social competence. This program also emphasizes community integration, including participation in recreational activities, volunteer opportunities and other community‑based experiences. Families and guardians are actively involved in the treatment process, and services are coordinated with DDS and clinical providers as appropriate.   At Devereux Connecticut, our goal is to support longterm stability, personal growth and meaningful community connection for the individuals we serve.

Key Responsabilities: 

  • Ensures proper staffing ratio throughout assigned residence.  
  • Oversees compliance with CT DDS regulation of assigned residence.
  • Ensures staff assigned to the house receive necessary training.
  • Oversees both the daily operation and all procedural routines of assigned residence.
  • Ensures that Treatment Team and treatment planning meetings are prepared for and attended. 
  • Monitors residence documentation requirements and trains and schedules program staff in documentation duties.
  • Maintains medication administration certification, as well as training mandates.
  • Ensures that recreational schedules are submitted to Community Rec. Coordinator.
  • Is responsible for assisting residence staff in crisis situations.
  • Assists the Program Director as directed.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
  • 1 year of progressive experience in a residential setting that programs for the special needs individuals.
  • Strongly prefer previous supervisory experience.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping adults with special needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; leadership, relationship management, and multi-tasking skills are required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or assist with up to 70 pounds as needed
  • Ability to assist with emergency responses, including evacuations or crisis situations

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time with on-call responsibilities
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response required
