About the Role:

Assist in overseeing and promoting a Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions program—specifically special education classrooms work.  Provides supervision to the professionals and instructional assistants and Registered Behavior Technicians that will result in the achievement of the educational, social, and emotional, as well as the transition and employment goals of the students, and the professional development of the staff. Includes creating, developing, directing, maintaining, and evaluating the range of direct and support services provided to students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade. The position requires knowledge of PDE, IDEA, and chapter 14 regulations, as well as competency in IEPs, positive behavior support strategies, classroom management, and MTSS/PBISI. The position requires successful relationships with the education-based agencies at the state and local level, supervisees and consultees in the programs, and colleagues in the education services division. 

 

Location: Neshaminy School District

Schedule: M-F 8-4pm, this is a Full-time 12-month position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Supervision: Lead Special Education Autism support Classroom programs; supervise staff; ensure compliance with special education regulations.
  • Program Management: Direct staffing and hiring; collaborate with operations and district leadership; maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage projects with attention to quality, outcomes, and budgetary practices.
  • Professional Development: Design and deliver engaging training for educators and staff; evaluate outcomes and create implementation resources.
  • Leadership: Foster a culture of servant leadership through coaching, feedback, and team development.

DESS provides support to schools around early learning, academic interventions, safety practices, and the assessment and treatment of students with complex behaviors, cognitive challenges and communication needs. Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must be 21+
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field 
  • PA Department of Education certification as a supervisor of special education, pupil services, principal or education administrator 
  • At least five years (two of which must be in leadership capacity) experience in an educational setting working with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations
