Devereux is hiring a seasonal lifeguard to work evenings and weekends!

As a Lifeguard you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused.

Every day as a Seasonal Lifeguard you will: 

• Provide supervision of swimming recreation programming for students
• Provide quality direction and supervision, evaluation, training and support of staff, visitors and guest involved in pool activities
• Ensure the students are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment.

You will be offered:

• Pay-rat: $20.00 per hour (flat rate)
• Schedule: Availability to work "after-school" hours (4pm -8pm) during the week
• Must be able to work at least 1 day (Saturday or Sunday) every weekend from 10am to 6pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day

The School for Integrated Learning focuses on building upon the unique strengths of each student. Our school strives to offer a breadth of opportunities for students to express themselves and find personal levels of accomplishment through activities such as: Special Olympics, talent shows and school dances, student government, peer mentoring, service learning, community gardening, and employment education, both in the classroom and in the community. The goal of the School for Integrated Learning is to create individualized educational opportunities that enable each student to live as a positive, healthy and socially-connected individual in his or her community. The School for Integrated Learning is licensed to serve students in grades K-12 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: behavioral and cognitive differences, autism, intellectual disabilities and speech and language impairments. 

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. 

Qualifications

Education:High School Diploma, some college preferred

Requirements: Must be 21 years of age. Must have an active lifeguard certification. 

Experience:One year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with special needs preferred.
