Hourly Rate: $24.20 up to $28.00, based upon education and related experience
Full-Time Schedule:7a-3p with some weekends to meet the needs of the team and those served

Position Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician serves youth ages 6-21 with autism and developmental disabilities in our STAIRS program, an intensive residential treatment program located in Homestead, PA. The Registered Behavior Technician functions in a multidisciplinary treatment setting (including behavior analysts, a child psychiatrist, social worker, nurses, special education staff, direct care staff, among others) The Registered Behavior Technician provides 1:1 behavior analytic services to youth with severe behavioral challenges and skill deficits who have not responded to treatment in less restrictive community-based or residential settings. Behavioral Interventions are developed by a behavior analyst (BCBA) who supervises the Registered Behavior Technician per BACB requirements.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver Clinical Programming and Behavioral Support: Implement individualized positive behavior support behavior plans and collect behavioral data across residential, school and community settings.
- Skill Acquisition Interventions: Aid residents with the development of communication skills, social skills, functional and daily living skills (i.e., personal hygiene, toileting), play and leisure skills
- Behavior Reduction and Management: Implement interventions to prevent challenging behaviors as well as strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors (including self-injury, aggression, elopement) and other crisis situations using approved intervention techniques.
- Treatment Team Collaboration: Collaborate with BCBAs, school staff, and multidisciplinary team to monitor progress, assist with assessments, and ensure fidelity to behavioral interventions.
- Maintain and Structure a Therapeutic Environment: Create and manage a structured, goal-oriented environment that supports therapeutic and treatment plan outcomes.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulatory and Professional Standards: Apply and uphold internal policies and external regulations (e.g., BACB, CARF, state licensing authorities)

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Requires a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the BACB.

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with autism or behavior challenges preferred. Requires strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and technology skills. Must be adaptable to changing workload, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and available to work a flexible work schedule. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications (especially Excel), experience with data collection. Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to administer CPR. Ability to administer first aid. Ability to properly restrain adolescent/adult residents. Ability to create and maintain a therapeutic milieu. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, and pushing/pulling (1/2 to 3/4 of the workday). Seldom requires sitting. May require lifting up to 50 lbs. (1/4 - 1/2 of the workday). Requires repetitive wrist/hand movement (3/4 to 4/4 of the workday). Range of hearing and vision sufficient to operate standard office machines and communicate with co-workers and stakeholders in person and via telephone. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances. Often drives a Devereux-TCV vehicle or van. Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated (1/2 to 3/4 of work time). Some fluctuation in temperature. Also, regularly works outside. May work in wet conditions (<1/4 of work time)
