Job Overview 

Maintain the fleet of test vehicles in the department in compliance to the Company's Integrity, Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality requirements and to perform delegated SHERQ tasks and duties & to inform superior about deviations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintenance and test driving of test trucks.

• Engine teardown (Intermediate & final inspections).

• Ordering of parts using various Daimler truck systems.

• Dynamometer operation - vehicle testing and analysis.

• Field services & Repairs.

• Fitment of test parts and test equipment as per DAG instruction using SAP.

• Metal fabrication (bracketry, welding bending etc.).

• Detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• Matric/NQF level 4 in Diesel Mechanic or relevant equivalent.

• Trade Test certificate in Diesel Mechanic.

• Code 14 drivers  license advantageous.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years’ post-trade test hands-on technical experience specializing in Daimler commercial vehicles.

Special Knowledge:

• Daimler Xentry system.

• HDEP, MDEG, OM460 and BR900 engine maintenance and rebuilt.

• Daimler trucks' aggregates, electrical, pneumatic and exhaust aftertreatment systems maintenance.

• Advanced knowledge of WIS and EPC Daimler truck systems.

• Metal fabrication (bracketry, welding bending etc.).
