Powertrain Engineering is about creating exceptional products that are attractive and add value for our customers. We focus on innovation and quality while delivering products on time and within budget. The Cummins Engine and Cooling System Integration Team is part of the Powertrain group in Product Engineering. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing and developing best-in-class cost-effective components and systems for regulatory compliance, fuel economy, durability, and reliability.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 to $91,000 USD. Pay offered is dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

Responsibilities include: - Designing and developing best-in-class coolant systems plumbing, tanks, vent lines, and third-party engine integration hardware by utilizing problem-solving techniques to develop quick and effective solutions for issues in every step of the product development cycle - Creating and maintaining 3D models, drawings, and GD&T using NX and related tools - Continuously improving product quality, tools, and processes while staying current with industry developments - Proactively engaging in cost and complexity optimization initiatives - Promptly responding to Custom Work Orders, Plant Build issues, and Customer Field Concerns - Interfacing and supporting other teams including product design, validation engineering, compliance, manufacturing, sales, and marketing - Interacting with the multi-tier supplier base to ensure conformance of designs to specifications, internal and external customer expectations, engineering practices, and government regulations

Knowledge You Should Bring

Requirements include: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree - Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with quality - Demonstrated strong verbal and written skills - Understanding of engineering upstream and downstream processes - Proven follow-through and ability to work independently

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

Preferred qualifications: - Prior experience with DTNA systems (PLATON, IMACS+) - Experience using Siemens NX for solid modeling
