Establish and coordinate all planned maintenance shutdown activities and hand-over satisfaction in compliance with the company's Integrity, Anti-Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy, all applicable legal and statutory requirements, Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality requirements and to perform delegated SHERQ tasks and duties and to inform superiors about deviations. **Key Duties and Responsibilities** - Planning of maintenance work taking into consideration the amount of maintenance work to be performed, Artisan/Artisan assistant availability and plant availability in conjunction with line management. - Consolidation of overall planned maintenance daily and shutdown activities for the plant. - Coordinate the hand-over of shutdown tasks which are carried out by facilities planning/contractors to ensure standards are upheld. - Custodian of equipment and documentation standardization. - Archiving and updating documentation, BOM and material master plan in MC connection. - Generate spare part requirements for new and upgraded equipment. - Ensure availability and sufficient stock levels of spares for contracted maintenance, such as spray booth filters and spray booth self-adhering plastic, in conjunction with maintenance artisans. - Ensure follow-up on deep cleaning of plant with allocation of sufficient labor as per request from cleaning contractor. - Generate preventative maintenance plans and schedules on all new and upgraded equipment. - Involvement with facilities planning and maintenance projects for new and upgraded equipment. - Initiate training requirements on all new equipment. - Ensure refresher training to production on the use of the TPM process. - Advise and inform maintenance of technology advancements and pursue those which are deemed relevant. - Asset management for new and decommissioned equipment or plant, including scrapping of redundant equipment. - Coordinate decisions on new equipment vendors in conjunction with all role players. - Be hands-on by assisting maintenance employees with critical breakdowns when and as the need occurs. - Improve plant availability and reliability and ensure problem-solving activities and root cause analysis are conducted where applicable. - Stay up to date with maintenance best practices and challenge plant managers regarding continuous improvements. - Create daily and weekly progress reports regarding maintenance KPIs, PMs, work orders, etc. - Define and capture functional locations and equipment numbers with their associated BOM in MC connection/SAP. - Ensure that re-order points are set and agreed upon for store stock and spares availability for maintenance in conjunction with maintenance artisans and maintenance storeman. - Create equipment, equipment BOM, and material master in the MC connection/SAP system. - Knowledge of SABS 0108 – Hazardous area identification and equipment classification. - Ensure compliance with OHS Act 85/1993, ISO 14001, TS16949, ISO 9001. - Responsible for new equipment FMEA documentation. - Coordinate all system enhancements such as MC connection. **Qualifications** - Matric and two relevant diplomas or certificates or equivalent. - Trade test certificate. **Experience** - Two to three years of experience as an artisan in the automotive maintenance environment. - PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Experience in the use of CMS (Computerized Maintenance Systems). **Special Knowledge** - Maintenance of plant and equipment within the automotive manufacturing environment. - Specific knowledge of DCOM, TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSACT, ISO and TUV audits. - Knowledge of SAP system. **Other Important Information** Daimler Truck Southern Africa is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
