Your Mission:

• Patrol neighborhoods using advanced tools via car, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot to prevent crime while building relationships with the community.

• Respond promptly to incidents using critical thinking skills; investigate crimes involving adults or juveniles through initial and follow-up procedures.

• Utilize technology during surveillance operations; remain adaptable in responding to calls for service from radio dispatches or other communication platforms.

• Collaborate effectively with team members while actively contributing ideas for improving public safety strategies.

What You Bring:
Education:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; advanced education such as an associate's or bachelor's degree in fields like criminal justice, social sciences, or related areas preferred but not required.

• Must obtain Kansas Law Enforcement certification within one (1) year of hire — we’ll help you get there!

Experience:

• At least one (1) year of experience working directly with people—whether as a security professional, customer service expert skilled at managing conflict resolution scenarios, EMT responder under pressure, social worker supporting others’ wellbeing—or similar roles where interpersonal skills shine.

• Bonus points if you're multilingual! Spanish fluency is highly desired but not mandatory.

Requirements:

• Minimum age requirement: 21 years by your start date.

• No residency restrictions for new officers; however specialized units must reside within 40 minutes' response time.

• A valid Kansas driver’s license is required before starting work.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary starts at $27.76-$29.15/hour ($57K-$60K annually), determined by qualifications (DOQ). Plus:

• Earn an additional $1.50/hour for evening/night shifts between 6 PM–6 AM.
